Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Sales Operations Planner to play a critical role in driving sales performance through the design, execution, and optimization of sales planning processes. This position will focus on commissions administration, quota planning, and territory alignment, ensuring that our sales teams are supported with fair, transparent, and effective structures. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and Sales Leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Sales Compensation & Commissions:

  • Administer monthly/quarterly commissions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payouts.

  • Partner with Finance and HR to validate commission calculations and resolve discrepancies.

  • Support the design and modeling of annual and quarterly incentive compensation plans.

  • Provide reporting and dashboards to leadership and sales reps on attainment and earnings.

  • Quota Planning & Performance Management:

  • Assist in developing and distributing annual and quarterly sales quotas.

  • Conduct analysis of historical performance, pipeline data, and market opportunity to inform quota setting.

  • Track quota attainment and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Partner with leadership to deliver clear, data-driven quota communications.

  • Territory Design & Alignment:

  • Maintain and optimize sales territory assignments to ensure equitable distribution of opportunities.

  • Partner with Sales Leaders to evaluate territory coverage, whitespace, and account assignments.

  • Execute alignment changes in Salesforce and ensure downstream accuracy for reporting and compensation.

  • Analytics, Tools & Process Improvement:

  • Build and maintain reporting tools and dashboards that provide transparency into performance, commissions, and quota.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives that simplify and scale sales planning activities.

  • Support system enhancements (e.g., CaptivateIQ, Salesforce, etc.).


Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or related field; MBA or relevant certification a plus.

  • 4+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Sales Planning, or Incentive Compensation (medical device, SaaS, or related industries preferred).


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

  • Familiarity with compensation software (CaptivateIQ, Varicent, Xactly, etc.) strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial and operational data.

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
