Job Summary
The IT Systems Engineer will be a key contributor to the Global IT organization, responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of enterprise infrastructure systems and services. This role supports both operational and project-based work, with responsibilities driven by business needs. As an IT Systems Engineer, you will collaborate across global teams to support global infrastructure in modernizing legacy infrastructure, enhance automation, and ensure lifecycle and patching hygiene all while aligning with ITIL-based processes and standards. The ideal candidate is proactive and passionate about leveraging technology to improve system availability, operational reliability, and security. They will play a critical role in maintaining a stable and resilient global infrastructure that supports ZOLL business operations and mission to improve patient outcomes worldwide.
Essential Functions
- Implement and maintain infrastructure configurations according to established best practices and enterprise standards, proactively identifying and resolving potential configuration issues to ensure optimal system stability and performance.
- Monitor and analyze IT infrastructure performance and configuration data to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
- Conduct routine system maintenance and resolve operational incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Utilize established ITIL-based processes and corporate ticketing systems to ensure consistent and efficient resolution of IT issues and requests.
- Work to resolve complex incidents and escalated tickets, leveraging expertise and collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams to support operational procedures.
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and external vendors, to design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Promote and implement automation to enhance efficiency, create self-service capabilities, and improve the reliability of IT systems.
- Stay current with developments in systems technology and recommend ways to take advantage of new innovations and advancements.
- Respond to system failures and provide after-hours support, including participating in an on-call rotation, as required.
- Work with colleagues in team-based focus groups to address specific initiatives and contribute to shared goals.
- Contribute to high-performing teams through collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing with colleagues across the organization.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members, sharing expertise and supporting professional development as needed.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in CIS, MIS, IT, or a related field or equivalent experience required. preferred
- 7+ years prior industry experience (Enterprise preferred) required
- Experience with enterprise SAN/NAS technologies. required
- Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Certificates (PKI), Switching, Firewalling, Virtual Networking required
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux/Windows-based environments required
- Experience in multi-site datacenter operations, including onsite hands-on support for server hardware, network equipment, and cabling. required
- Possess a current certification relevant to the support technology field (e.g. Windows Server Administrator; VMware Certified Professional; NetApp Certified Professional, etc.). Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to exchange ideas and information and effectively relate to others to accomplish work responsibilities.
- Automation skills using PowerShell or other scripting or orchestration tools to streamline system administration tasks.
- Experience with monitoring systems.
- Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 15%).

The annual salary for this position is:
