CMSThe Operational Systems Intern/Co-op will support the successful execution of ZOLL’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) upgrade at our two Pittsburgh locations. Opcenter—our MES software—serves as the digital backbone of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that production activities are executed, tracked, and documented accurately. This role focuses on communication, coordination, project documentation, and stakeholder engagement for over 300 internal colleagues who rely on Opcenter as part of their daily work.

The intern will help plan and deliver internal communications, support user engagement activities, create training materials, track project information, coordinate schedules, and act as a bridge between the Operational Systems team and end users. This position is ideal for students or early career candidates interested in project management, information systems, communication, or operations within a regulated manufacturing environment.

This is an on site role with regular interaction across both Pittsburgh-area facilities.

Job Summary

This position will support both Gamma and Anchor locations.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, own, and execute a creative communication plan for the MES upgrade (which may include but is not limited to email announcements and updates, flyers, posters or internal-facing content, in-person information sessions and demos, and digital communications, newsletters, or other proposed channels).
  • Serve as a liaison between Operational Systems (OS) and end users, gathering questions, concerns, and feedback to support change management.
  • Create end user training materials, including FAQs, PowerPoint decks, quick reference guides, and other resources (content direction provided by OS Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)).
  • Support training delivery, including logging attendance and facilitating communication with supervisors and site leads.
  • Prepare and maintain key project trackers (such as questions and issue logs, decision records, training lists and attendance, and stakeholder engagement and communications schedule).
  • Assist with user support activities (including monitoring upgrade related inquiries, reviewing requests, and routing issues or questions to the appropriate OS SME).
  • Schedule meetings for stakeholders, SMEs, technical teams, vendors, and site leadership using Outlook and Teams.
  • Assist with go-live preparation (such as coordinating with site management on support schedules, helping organize floor-walking rotations, and ensuring users are trained and prepared ahead of launch).
  • Spend time on the manufacturing and service floors to observe workflows, meet users, and understand how Opcenter supports daily operations.
  • Perform general project support duties as assigned to ensure a smooth MES upgrade.


Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program and have completed at least one year or possess equivalent experience outside of academia required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Interest or coursework in information systems, operations, project management, communication, or related fields required.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through required.
  • Ability to interact professionally with colleagues at all levels required
  • Experience in creating basic communication materials (emails, announcements, slide decks) required.
  • Comfort interacting with end users in a manufacturing or service environment required.
  • Interest in learning about MES, digital manufacturing, or regulated industry operations preferred.

The hourly pay rate for this position is:

$20.00 to $26.00
