Job Summary
The role is responsible for providing engineering support for mechanical systems, automation and robotics and production equipment at the Itamar Zoll production site, including characterization, planning, development, and production support, leading the robotics field and molds and implementing solutions in production lines
Essential Functions
- Support production line
- Automation/Robotic line engineering project lead
- Lead engineering change orders (ECOs) for product improvements: Production cycle time, cost reduction, mold, maintenance /duplicate, packing
- Develop production jigs, tools and testers
- Perform evaluation of new suppliers
- Develop and validate manufacturing processes include tools IQ/OQ/PQ and product Process validation processes
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in a medical device manufacturing environment or similar manufacturing industry.
- Experience in jig design, including requirements, design and validation with at least 4 years of experience
- Knowledge and prior experience in pneumatic systems, Servo, sensors and industrial control with at least 2 years of experience
- Previous experience in planning, developing and implementing automation and robotics systems in an industrial production environment with an emphasis on Vision systems, smart quality control and cameras
- Background in the worlds of plastic injection molding, precision assemblies
- Experience in the integration of industrial robots /Cobots
- Advanced CAD design proficiency (SolidWorks)
- Experience in PLC programming (Siemens / Beckhoff / Allen Bradley) – a significant advantage.
- Experience in operating and supporting automation production lines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and prior experience in programming and working with industrial robots – an advantage.
- Self- motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong team player with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
